Artist Statement
One of the greatest irrationalities of humankind is the belief that a perfect system can be built. Every system is prone, exposed, and temporary.
In my work I investigate the implications of this idea on various aspects of daily life. I often work in mixed media on paper because this process allows me to work slowly through an idea and find new connections or ideas. Drawing becomes meditation, analysis, and discovery.
Currently, I am focusing on bodily systems. I chose this focus because the body is one of the most complex and fallible systems, yet also trusted and essential.
